                             Step by Step Getting Health Card in Canada

It's very important to have health card in Canada when you are in Canada to avoid OPD charges. 

1. Visit Nearby Service Center e,g. Service Ontario, it's easy to search in google maps or else use below link and search by your zip

2. It is best to take prior appointment or else walk will have approximately an hour or more wait time.

Download and fill all the form. Same will be provided at Service Ontario center if you walk in.

If you visit before your scheduled appointment then at the entrance there will be monitor to select if walk in or by appointment. Just enter your mobile number and you will get token slip like below. Wait for your token to get called out.

                             For Work Permit holders carry following ones
  1. Original Work Permit, if your province is not the one mentioned in Work Permit then you will have to carry employment letter stating that you are employed in that particular province. Most employer know about this and they can ship one OHIP letter for you.
  2. Residence proof - Since you will be new , try to get phone bill or get employment letter.
